Cross-border fulfillment refers to the complete management of international e-commerce logistics: from storing products in local warehouses to final delivery to the customer, including order processing and payment collection. In emerging markets, this service is crucial because it allows sellers to sell in countries where they have no physical presence, without having to manage local complexity (imprecise addresses, cash payments, phone confirmations, mobile money). AtlasSwift streamlines this process by handling the entire chain: you ship your stock to our regional hubs, we store it, and as soon as an order comes in, our local teams call the customer to confirm, prepare the package, deliver it, and collect payment. You then receive your funds via weekly wire transfer in the currency of your choice.
Cash on Delivery (COD) is the dominant payment method in Africa, representing over 80% of e-commerce transactions. Unlike Western markets where credit cards dominate, African customers prefer to pay in cash or via mobile money when receiving their product. This system presents specific challenges: high abandonment rates (customers who don't respond or refuse upon delivery), incomplete addresses requiring confirmation calls, and complex cash management. AtlasSwift optimizes COD through three levers: (1) our native agents call each customer before delivery to remove doubts and confirm the exact address, (2) our delivery drivers are trained in secure collection of cash and mobile money, and (3) we handle complete financial reconciliation with documented weekly payouts. This approach raises the conversion rate from 70% (market average) to 92% for our merchants.
Phone confirmation is essential in emerging markets for three major reasons. First, addresses are often imprecise or incomplete (no street numbers, informal neighborhoods). The call allows confirming with the customer the exact location via local landmarks ("near the pharmacy", "after the roundabout"). Second, customers need reassurance before paying: they want to ask questions about the product, payment methods, and delivery times. Without this human exchange, the abandonment rate climbs to 50-60%. Third, the call helps detect fraudulent orders or errors (incorrect number, duplicate order). Our call centers employ native agents who speak local languages (French, English, Bambara, Wolof, Moore...) and understand cultural codes. This human approach transforms a simple online order into a trust relationship, increasing the conversion rate by 30 points on average.
In Abidjan, AtlasSwift guarantees delivery in 30 minutes on average for central areas (Plateau, Cocody, Marcory, Yopougon, Adjamé, Treichville) and in less than 2 hours for peripheral areas (Bingerville, Songon, Anyama). This speed relies on three pillars: (1) a network of warehouses strategically positioned in major communes, (2) a dedicated fleet of drivers equipped with GPS and trained in local specifics, and (3) a real-time route optimization system. As soon as an order is confirmed by phone (a process that takes 15-20 minutes), the package is prepared and assigned to the nearest driver. The customer receives an SMS with the estimated arrival time. For urgent orders, we even offer an "express 15 minutes" option for an additional fee. This speed is a major competitive advantage: it reduces abandonment rate (the customer doesn't have time to change their mind) and improves satisfaction, generating more positive reviews and recommendations.
Yes, simply install AtlasSync, our official Shopify app available on the Shopify App Store. Installation takes less than 5 minutes. Search for "AtlasSync" on the Shopify App Store or access it directly via this link: https://apps.shopify.com/atlassync. Once the app is installed, connect your AtlasSwift account and all your Shopify orders will be automatically synced: stock statuses, customer information, product details. You no longer need to manually enter orders. Each time a customer places an order on your Shopify store, AtlasSwift receives the notification, our call center calls the customer to confirm, then delivery is triggered. Statuses are updated in real-time in Shopify ("Processing", "Shipped", "Delivered"). Tracking is also synced, allowing your customers to track their package directly from Shopify. The integration also works for refunds: if a customer returns a product, the refund is automatically triggered in Shopify. This automation eliminates 95% of manual tasks and reduces data entry errors to zero.
AtlasSwift uses a transparent, performance-based pricing model: you only pay for orders delivered AND paid. There is no monthly subscription, no minimum order requirement, and no setup fees. Pricing varies by country and delivery type: for example, in Abidjan, intra-city delivery costs 1,500 FCFA (about €2.50), while national delivery costs 3,000 FCFA (about €5). These prices include EVERYTHING: confirmation call, package preparation, delivery, payment collection (cash or mobile money), and weekly remittance. There are no hidden fees. Progressive discounts apply based on your volume: 5% discount from 100 orders/month, 10% from 500 orders/month, and up to 20% for volumes exceeding 2,000 orders/month. Returns are not charged (you only pay if the customer accepts and pays). Check our Pricing page to see the complete grid by country and simulate your monthly budget based on your projected volumes.
Yes and no, depending on your operating model. AtlasSwift has strategically positioned regional warehouses: Abidjan (for Ivory Coast and WAEMU countries), Accra (for Ghana), Lagos (for Nigeria), and Dakar (for Senegal and neighboring countries). If you sell in multiple countries, you have two options: (1) Centralized model: you ship your stock to a single regional hub (e.g., Abidjan), and we handle cross-border deliveries to other countries. This option is more economical to start with but with slightly longer delivery times (2-3 days to neighboring countries). (2) Distributed model: you distribute your stock across multiple warehouses based on your volumes by country. This option is recommended for high volumes (>200 orders/month/country) as it guarantees 24-hour deliveries everywhere. Our warehouses are secure (cameras, 24/7 security), insured against theft and fire, and equipped with real-time inventory management systems that you can access from your dashboard.
Return rates in Africa are structurally high (25-40% vs 10-15% in Europe) due to several factors: cash on delivery (customer can change their mind), often imprecise product descriptions, and distrust of e-commerce. AtlasSwift helps you reduce this rate through five proven levers: (1) Pre-confirmation call: our agents call each customer 30 minutes after ordering to answer questions and remove doubts, reducing abandonment by 40%. (2) Detailed product photos: we help you optimize your product pages with multiple angles, detail zooms, and demonstration videos. (3) Sizing and specifications: our agents ask the right questions (size, color, compatibility) to avoid errors. (4) Fast delivery: by delivering in 30 minutes to 24 hours, the customer doesn't have time to change their mind or find it cheaper elsewhere. (5) Tracking and transparency: the customer receives SMS at each stage, which holds them accountable and reduces false orders. Our partner merchants have seen their return rate drop from 35% to 8% on average after 3 months of optimization with these methods.
COD order abandonment is a major challenge in Africa, with an average rate of 30-45% depending on the country. The main causes are: (1) Impulsive orders: the customer orders on a whim (via a Facebook ad) then changes their mind. (2) Long delivery times: if delivery takes 3-5 days, the customer has time to change their mind or find the product elsewhere. (3) Lack of reassurance: the customer has doubts about quality, size, or seller legitimacy. (4) Address problem: the delivery driver can't find the customer, who doesn't answer the phone. (5) Lack of cash: at the time of delivery, the customer doesn't have the money. To counter these abandonments, AtlasSwift applies a strict protocol: confirmation call within 30 minutes (while the customer is still motivated), ultra-fast delivery (less than 24h), reassurance by a native agent (who speaks the local language and inspires confidence), confirmation of the exact address with landmarks, and flexibility on payment method (cash, Orange Money, MTN Mobile Money, Wave...). These measures raise the conversion rate from 55% (without call center) to 92% (with AtlasSwift).
Traditional logistics providers (DHL, Fedex, Colissimo, local post) are not suitable for e-commerce in Africa for several reasons: (1) No confirmation call: they deliver without calling beforehand, generating 60-70% delivery failures. (2) No payment collection: they don't collect payment, forcing you to go through complex and expensive payment solutions. (3) Long delivery times: count on 3-7 days minimum, versus 30 minutes to 24h with AtlasSwift. (4) No return management: if the customer refuses, the package stays blocked for weeks. (5) High cost: €10-15 per package on average, versus €2-5 with AtlasSwift. (6) No e-commerce integration: you must manually enter each order on their platform. AtlasSwift is specifically designed for e-commerce in Africa: native call center, express delivery, secure payment collection (cash + mobile money), Shopify/WooCommerce integrations, real-time dashboard, and documented weekly remittances. It's the difference between a classic courier service and a complete e-commerce fulfillment infrastructure.
